MONDAY, Jan. 23 (HealthDay News) -- Compounds in black currants may help protect against Alzheimer's disease, according to a study in the current issue of Chemistry & Industry magazine.
I hate currants - why couldn't it have been chocolate?

Actually, LB, you may be in luck. There are many studies that show that dark chocolate is chock full of anti-oxidants, which prevent the degradation of vascular tissue (indeed, they protect all cells). Cerebral vascular health has in turn been shown to prevent Alzheimers and other forms of dementia.
