A question about the Lewinsky scandal surprised Chelsea Clinton on the campaign trail yesterday:

INDIANAPOLIS - Chelsea Clinton had a quick retort Tuesday when asked whether her mother's credibility had been hurt during the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

"Wow, you're the first person actually that's ever asked me that question in the, I don't know maybe, 70 college campuses I've now been to, and I do not think that is any of your business," Clinton said during a campaign visit for her mother, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Much as I like Michelle Malkin, I have to disagree with her assessment. There's plenty about Hillary to pick on without asking Chelsea this type of question just to watch her squirm. I'm not saying Michelle's wrong, mind you. It's just one of those lines I would prefer not be crossed.

In the interest of disclosure, though, I should let you know that there was a similar situation in my family (except my parents were not famous and they wound up getting divorced over it). So maybe I'm just unable to see this objectively.

A person makes a choice when they step into the public spotlight and advocate the credibility, experience and honesty of a candidate.

Chelsea Clinton was wrong when she said that it wasn't any of his business. I think that it was the business of the entire country for a long period of time. It is a clear example of the poor choices that were made and fair game. If she doesn't want to answer questions about it she should stay home.

I might think differently if Chelsea was helping the campaign by stuffing envelopes or other campain work. She made the choice to seek out and speak on behalf of her mother and the "Monica" issue took place in the oval office. That makes it the business of the country.

IF she doesn't want to answer the hard questions then she needs to shut up and and support her mother in a different way.

Chelsa had better get used to this type of question. When you are a public figure you are subject to minute scrutiny.
He%% Bill probably Laid most of Chelsea's girlfriends.
Man she is ugly!!!!!

"Credibility" speaks to La Clinton's feminist credentials. A more cogent reply might have been, "As my mother said, this wasn't a blind 'stand by your man' situation how you react to it is up to you."
